Fuerteventura.
The north of the island is where you will find Corralejo, the main resort for Brits in search of Fun and Sun. The resort is spreading faster than the speed of light and although we have been going for years we still get lost with all the new roads, resorts and theme parks. The beaches outside of the main town are still clothes optional with the miles of sand dunes in the National Park. You can be Lawrence of Arabia for a day but don’t stray to far from the main road it can be easy to get into trouble once you lose sight of the beach. The resort now caters for the mass market, some of whom are shocked at the sight of naked flesh on the beach but I am sure they take in their stride by the end of the holiday. There are no dedicated naturist resorts in the north but plenty of private villas with pools where nude sunbathing is OK. The popular Villas Azul prices have dropped due to competition amongst the owners and now it is possible to get a 3 bedroom 4 bathroom villa with private pool, hot tub, air conditioning and flat screen TV from around £795.00 per week. Put 6 people in the villa and cheap flights you can have a very cheap good naturist friendly holiday for around £250.00 each. The Gallery is still a favourite for lovers of art and whacky decorations. You will never see anything like it in the usual tourist market. Just outside of Corralejo the small villages like La Jares and Villaverde have some very private villas with secluded pools. Again these can work out fairly reasonable but a car is necessary to get to the beaches. One of my favourite places is El Cotillo which is a local type fishing village on the west coast about 20 minutes drive from Corralejo. Here you find two different sides to the village. On the south side is a massive beach with great surf, a new harbour and a line of restaurants taking in the fantastic view. The village itself is in the middle with older types of fishermens cottages alongside newer apartment blocks. The village has small supermarkets and plenty of local restaurants where fresh fish is the order of the day. There is also the older harbour here with two very good restaurants “The Blue Cow” situated next to breaking surf and the “El Capitan” sat right in the best position for a romantic meal al fresco. To the north of the village is Los Lagos “The Lakes” in fact these are saltwater lagoons flanked by white sand beaches with a smattering of apartments right on the beach. Although these apartments are not classed as nude some such as “El Caleton” on the very far edge of the village are frequented by many naturist’s who can virtually walk straight from their apartment onto the beach. In the middle of the island is Caleta de Fuste which is an upcoming resort popular with families but not the best place for a naturist holiday unless you want a private villa with its own pool. A little further down the island is Costa Calma which has plenty of nude sunbathing possibilities on the beaches. The very south of Fuerteventura “Jandia” Playa Esquinzo. The popular Occidental Grand in Fuerteventura will no longer have a nude area due to being sold to the Magic Life club group of hotels. We suggest trying the Monte Marina complex and the Marina Playa hotel that are in the same bay as the Occidental Grand. Of course the beaches are still Clothes Optional but the Monte Marina has a dedicated nude area with pool. The Marina Playa hotel under the same ownership has plenty of textile accommodation and will allow use of the nude facilities, restaurant and other facilities. We found the hotel restaurant to be excellent and what a view perched on the cliff top overlooking the ocean. The Monte Marina now has a great sauna in the building overlooking the pool. Lanzarote. This is where it all started for Canarian Dreams back in the eighties. My love of surfing, windsurfing and getting naked on the beach was like a dream come true when I discovered the relaxed atmosphere on beaches like Famara in the and Papagayo by Playa Blanca in the south. Crystal clear warm water, warm wind and an endless supply of sunshine not mention the endless supply of San Miguel. In the early days before mass tourism hit the islands the restaurants seemed to be in competion who could get the most food on your plate. I remember having steaks so big you would struggle to eat them. Nowadays things are back to normal but still great value if you shop round. Our main area for naturist holidays on Lanzarote is the village of Charco de Palo where we have a vast selection of properties ranging from one bedroom apartments, frontline bungalows to Hollywood style villas. The village has 3 restaurants, a coffee bar, supermarket and beauty salon/hairdressers. We also have a reception for the majority of our properties unlike some other resorts which only have a phone number and the key left in the door for when you arrive. For clients staying in any of our Obona properties have use of two heated swimming pools, a sauna, and a laundry and games room. Most of our other properties have use of their own swimming pools as well as the saltwater rock pool in front of the Romantica restaurant which is now closed until new owners move in. Famara on the west coast has probably the largest beach on the island and is a favourite of naturist’s who like wide open beaches, great surf and a sense of complete awe when looking back at the 2000ft mountain behind the beach. The village is typically Spanish with dirt track roads and local fish restaurants. The sea can be quite rough so swimming is only for the very fit. Our villas, bungalows and apartments are all within minutes of the glorious beach. Playa Blanca. Playa Blanca in the south of the island is best known for the Papagayo beaches where nudism is practised. The 5 beaches are much easier to reach these days now the roads are better but are now accessible to the many thousands of textiles from the main resorts. We have villas with pools close to the beaches that are clothes optional. The resort itself is much quieter than the main resort of Puerto del Carmen where we also have naturist friendly villas. The Villa Alana is a nice naturist friendly villa with a heated swimming pool close to the Papagayo beaches. Gran Canaria
Our best resort in Gran Canaria is the very popular Magnolias Natura situated close to the famous Maspalomas beach. This small resort of just 28 bungalows tends to get booked up very quickly with clients from all around the globe so early booking is essential. The one bedroom bungalows have air con in the bedroom, a nice terrace and self catering facilities if you don’t want to take advantage of the excellent onsite restaurant. With Canarian Dreams there is no worry about getting from or back to the airport, our prices include transfers. For anyone with much deeper pockets we have some very luxurious private villas on the island. Villa Cosmos is one such luxurious villa big enough for a small naturist club to rent. The villa can sleep 16 people. Situated in the heart of Campo International, Maspalomas, Villa Cosmos boasts 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with highest quality furniture and fittings. An amazing cinema/games room with large screen projector including 5.1 surround sound, Sony PS3, Nintendo WII, pool table, table football and table tennis, sky TV and flat screen TV’s are standard throughout all the main rooms and bedrooms. Externally the private, secured perimeter walled and landscaped gardens include an exceptional pool complete with a jet stream feature and a heated Jacuzzi for relaxing. A leisurely 20 minute walk along a scenic, protected nature reserve will have you at Maspalomas beach and the surrounding Meloneras restaurants and shopping centres which include exclusive designer boutiques. All our extras are FREE! High chairs, cots, buggies, play pens and a range of toys to suit all ages are also included in the price. There’s also no extra charge for additional beds. Of course there are some hotels with limited naturist facilities if all you want is a sun terrace on the roof but no fully naturist hotels exist on the island. Tenerife Everyone knows about the main resorts of Las Americas and Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife. These resorts are geared up for the more lively and family holidaymakers. Lesser know is the El Medano town that boasts two naturist beaches along with one of the top windsurf spots where world championships are held. The town has plenty of good restaurants, shops and a nice promenade. Our properties are close to the quieter Montana Pelada beach on the outskirts of the town. Some are naturist friendly villas and others have secluded balconies overlooking the ocean. Playaflor Chill-Out Resort is located right in the centre of Playa de las Americas, one of the main tourist settings in south Tenerife, in Arona district. Just across the avenue, we can find a magnificent beach surrounded by all kinds of venues: Restaurants, bars, pubs, discos, shopping centres, casino, taxi and bus stop and all that you could expect from this privileged location. Reina Sofia, Tenerife south international airport, is the main entry gate for the island, only 15 Km. away from our resort. The main golf courses, thematic parks, pleasure harbours, cultural centres and shows are at a minimal distance from Playaflor. For golf addicts Tenerife is one of the best places to practise your swing with golf courses everywhere. |
